For device manufacturers

Standard signals.
Ready for
your device.

Our passive current and voltage sensors deliver low-power signals to IEC 61869-1, -10, -11. Protection relays, IEDs, meters and RTUs with sensor inputs can use them directly.

Your challenge

What keeps you busy today

Growing demand

Utilities and switchgear builders increasingly specify low-power sensors. Your devices need matching inputs.

Signal compatibility

Inputs have to match the sensor output signals, burdens and cable connections.

Accuracy over the range

Protection and metering need precise signals, from low load up to fault current.

Testing with real sensors

Developing and certifying device inputs requires reliable reference sensors.

Integration

From sensor to device

device-integration

01Sensor in the switchgear

Passive voltage and current sensors measure directly in the medium voltage panel. No power supply needed.

02Low-power signal

A shielded output cable carries the signal to IEC 61869-1, -10, -11 to your device. A dedicated point on the sensor is used for the common earth connection.

03Your device

Relays, IEDs, meters and RTUs with low-power inputs process the signal directly. For conventional inputs, our amplifiers adapt the signal.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which output signals do your sensors provide?

Our sensors provide low-power output signals according to IEC 61869-1, -10, -11. Part -10 applies to current sensors, part -11 to voltage sensors. The exact values for each sensor are listed in the data sheets.

Can my device use your sensors without low-power inputs?

Yes. If your device does not have low-power sensor inputs, our amplifiers and burden converter adapt the sensor signal. Not sure which option fits? Contact us and we will check it for you.

Do your sensors need a power supply?

No. All our sensors are passive and need no auxiliary power supply.

How are the sensors connected to my device?

Each sensor has an output cable that connects directly to the intelligent electronic device (IED), for example a protection relay. A dedicated point on the sensor is used for the common earth connection.

Which voltage levels do your sensors cover?

Our cone-type voltage sensors cover 12, 17.5 and 24 kV with a single sensor (U240 series), and 36 kV with the U360 series. For air-insulated switchgear, our support insulators with integrated voltage sensor are available for 12, 24 and 36 kV.
